6 Hours of Silverstone

I'm planning out a trip to go to this with our Motorsport society in UL, but I'm having trouble getting from Birmingham International Airport to Silverstone Circuit. Any ideas as to get from A-B with 10 or less people?

I was thinking:

Train to Northampton -> Bus to Silverstone -> Walk to circuit
Minivan directly to circuit from Airport

Any other ideas? Seems extremely hard to get to the circuit with public transport.

Yeah Silverstone is pretty tricky to get to with public transport, driving is always the best option but there's usually park and ride schemes for their major races so these could be worth looking into.

I've it all sorted apart from getting from Northampton Train Station to Silverstone leaving at 10am or afterwards and getting from Silverstone to Northampton Train Station by 19:55 (19:30 to be safe).

Could someone guesstimate how much a minibus/taxi would cost?

EDIT: It's looking like it will end up under €200 for the whole weekend camping/tickets/travel from Limerick return. If anyone wants the Excel sheet I'm working off if they're thinking of going just pm me Also, if you can get to Dublin airport yourself, it'll only cost about €130 return + price of getting from Silverstone to Northampton return.

Ah right, I'd say the best option is to call Silverstone and see what park and ride they are offering (or indeed what buses they advise to get from either Northampton or Milton Keynes)

Seems to be Stagecoach Midlands 8 Bus from Northampton to Brackley is the only one, but the times don't suit. I'll give them a call just incase.

Let me know how you get on, I've been half thinking of going to either the Silverstone or Spa rounds

Got it sorted.
If anyone wants the Excel File let me know. It worked out at €167.42 or €137.42 if you don't need a return bus from Limerick to Dublin Airport.

In case anyone is interested in how to get to Silverstone from University of Limerick or Dublin Airport:



EDIT: I should add the prices (all are return):
Bus (Limerick - Dublin)= €30
Flights= €40.99
Train= €18.38
Bus= €7.96

Camping site tickets are £25 and Weekend tickets for the actual racing are £35.

Works out at just under €170 all in.

I'm normally there as I live 40 minutes from the circuit
