If you posted a time and what distance you ran it might help....

I would think 5-6 minutes is attainable on a flatter course, but a lot of this would be offset by whether conditions which where near perfect on Saturday.

thanx ger...what advice would you give me to achieve it...to get the time in early or to try and have a consistent steady mile pace....or other...?...thanx

Evenly paced as possible. Getting the time in early is not a great strategy. You'll lose whatever time you've "banked" in the early sections and probably more.

What race are you planning to go with 3:30 pacers ??

Hard to advise without knowing your ability. But if your goal was to break 3.30 lets say, then going with the 3.30 pacer will take the guess work out of it.Following a specific marathon plan based on a 3.30 target will also help you in that regard and give you an idea of the paces you'll be expected to run.Sounds like you are improving and you should learn alot from last saturday. It was some day for it and thats a huge plus on marathon day.

Limerick is probably too soon to make the gain required (10-15 secs/mile). You will need 3 weeks to recover fully from Tralee and that only leaves 2 weeks to Limerick. You are not going to get anything done to improve to 3:30 Pace other then possible losing 5-7 lbs but that may hinder your recovery/taper or you may already be at your racing weight.

Cork or Portumna in June may be better options, cork will have pacers but portumna wont but gives you another 2 weeks training over Cork.
