Michael D is on the Six One news calling for all able bodied men and women to take up arms and protect our homeland from impending invasion by joining the Allied EU forces. This is no drill, relations have soured between Europe and Russia, war has been declared and Russian forces have taken eastern Europe and Scandinavia.

What do you do ? Set off to do your part to protect your home ? Or stay where you are and wait it out hoping and praying that the Russian armies never get this far as millions of other Europeans give up their lives to try and hold them back ?

Will you fight ? 90 votes

Ah, yes. Youtube, that source of truth-telling, honest journalism and realistic, balanced depiction of cultural norms and reality!
I've been to Russia - in reality - many times. Great place altogether.

No, but those in the video looked more worried than usual as they stared off into the distance.

Huge difference between visiting a place and living there. If youve been a lot of times you should know this.;)

Just to clarify, whether or not Russia is nice or not they will be rolling in here in tanks, ruining good fields with bombs, making it impossible to go on the beer and possibly might even knock the internet out for a bit.

Was the OP suggesting that the Russians would be invading to invite us all back to their gaffs or something?
You don't need to live somewhere to know what it is like. Repeated, extended exposure to the place, plus an engagement with the culture, language and media does the trick quite nicely.

Bring back the IRA I suppose.... tbh it would be impossible for us to win a conventional war or to stop us from being invaded... best tactic is to fight like the IRA did

I think you're a few decades out of date OP to be picturing a Russian invasion. Could you not have picked a more realistic modern aggressor?

Russia are always good for a hypothetical invasion.

The Germans have already successfully won an economic war and now dictate policy here. What could they possibly gain from conducting a land offensive?

Putin is a bit like the Borg though, his ego won't let him see Higgins as a threat. The Hobbit can just waddle right up to him and smack him in the sack with the stick.

    Higgins Wins! Vasecticality!

we would need someone to arm us, more than likely that would have to be an arms producing nation who have a long standing rivalry with Russia..

I might know of a place

Apparently 50 million Irish people live there

We would be Afghanistan in Rambo 3

It's the EU vs Russia not Ireland. The Germans and Swiss will arm us.

Because the USA, Britian, France, etc... Have all cut off flights in and out of the countries.
    That's bollocks.

We don't have conscription like some other very militant states so no one will be sent to prison for not going to war.

I'd be out in a flash.

Would they leave us alone if we replace all signed photo frames of the pope in Irish homes with Putin or Merkel portraits as an act of solidarity...
