    There is something in the code where we're not allowed to get into financial difficulty. Can't remember it exactly though.

    As above there is something in the code about defaulting on loans however I think it may happen or may have already happened and I woild like to see the court case that would ensue for unfair dismissal given the current economic sitiation.

    To he fair I think it is an old rule and one that wouldn't be implemented in todays force, I seem to remember that the financial institution have ro make a complaint against you to AGS

    No shame in the current climate! I expect the job to work with you, these are exceptional times, a dismissal would be a disgrace and I doubt collegues would stand by and let it happen if you are a genuine case!

    That's unusual. Is that only for the Gardai or can any financial institution complain to anyone's job about them?

    For the Gardai, I'd say any anti-bankruptcy measures are supposed to prevent potential corruption, i.e. Johnny Drugdealer knows you have money problems and offers you cash to do jobs for him.
