am definitely gonna take advantage of this. I can vouch for this brand. I have a North face jacket for the past 4 years which has been through the ringer and is still in great condition - not to mention it's the warmest jacket I've ever had.

Yeah you would really want to watch your sizings. For example mens 3XL with North Face would be around 5XL with most brands.

Check out the sizing chart yourself I cannot advice you. I'd imagine for Jackets you would want a size bigger than for tops.

I'm medium build 510 and I always find TNF stuff slightly short. I wore Lowe alpine for years and they did have a longer fit. My rain gear shells are perfect, but for my nuptse jackets I really wouldn't want to be taller. Fleeces etc I've found huge variety in the same size... It's just a case of wtf polartec were up to that particular year.

The prices look the same to me. The only thing with Kildare though is that you'd never be sure what's in stock. I've gotten some great bargains there before and then gone in on other days and they've had feck all on stock.

Anyone notice that recently TNF gear is becoming really common and everyone is wearing it. I have been buying it for years now, used to get it during US trips and pick stuff up in Kildare village etc, but now its as popular as Penneys! Still really good gear but reckon a high percentage of it is now fake gear.

For some reason The North Face site wouldn't accept numerals in the city line of the address so I had to put Dublin fifteen!

I'm looking at treating myself to one of the Triclimate jackets and have it narrowed to the Piperstone, Atlas or Deuce ... anyone have any experience of any of these re fit, room etc?
(had my eye on the Evolution one as it looks a bit roomier without being too baggy but gone in my size)
Am ususlly a 10 so thinking Size S would be fine too ... nowhere near me to try them on first to see and really want to take advantage of the sale

Im not sure but i think the difference is the underlayer, eg the atlas is a fleece under layer. Im not sure of the others.

I went with the atlas, as Ill be weaing the jacket in normal irish weather, and I have an extra fleece to fit it at home.

I tried the atlas on before and i fitted a large,(mens sizes) I would usually wear a large or xl shirt or jumper it seemed to fit snug in the right places, but with room in the shoulders. cant say what they are like for womens sizes tho.

Triclimate are all two part jackets with a removable fleece.

I have the Atlas. The difference between it and the Evolution is the thickness of the fleece. The Evolution is a 100 fleece whereas the Atlas is a 200.

I've had a tri-climate jacket for the last few years. It has served me well but the removable fleece aspect is a bit of a gimmick and makes for a very heavy jacket overall. I never wear the fleece on its own because it doesn't have a tie around the bottom/waist so it just looks wrong. Wearing the outer part on its own as well also looks silly because it seems too big and empty without the fleece. Also taking the jacket apart and putting it back together takes enough time so as to make it not very convenient. Maybe the design has been improved since I got mine and for €100 though its a bargain so I'd say you can't go wrong really!? (Think I paid close to $300 btw)

The filtering on the website seems unhelpful, in other words say you select size large in jackets it just shows all they jackets they have in size large but not whether they are in stock :rolleyes:

Another point. If you change the colour on the jacket. They can be in stock.

I have mine a few months and really like it. I wear the fleece on its own without issue. Havent tried the jacket without the fleece yet as it hasnt been warm enough!

Also its quite easy to take it apart, easier to do it when wearing the jacket. Two inside clips inside each cuff of the jacket and one inside the collar to release the fleece and then unzip it and take the jacket off. It takes less than a minute and the same doing it back up. You dont even have to have the cuffs and collar hooked up if you want to save more time.

i got mine in an end of season sale for €144 so for close to €100 is a fantastic deal imo.

I like North Face but with times like they are I cannot afford it until today when I realised at nearly 50% I still can't afford it.

Quality , definitely but very expensive even on sale. I didnt get far enough to checking for sizes.

I've changed my mind about the Atlas jacket, decided I'd prefer an Arctic parka instead.

I've emailed them to ask if this is possible, but does anyone know if there's a means of editing/cancelling an order? On the tracking system it's showing as "processing".

I've looked at all the pages and can't see any means of doing this....

(I used to be indecisive but now I'm not sure)
