    Hi all,

Looking for some advice please to se if anyone has been on the receiving end of someone slandering you....

My wife had a falling out with a good friend of hers at the time over 1 year ago... My wife just wants to forget about that old friendship and move on..

However, since the friendship ended between my wife and her friend , this person is still telling lies about my wife....

We thought the best thing to do at the time was to just ignore her, but it is 1 year later and she is still at it..

Do you think the best thing to do at this stage is get a lawyer to write her a letter stating that we will issue legal proceedings for defamation unless it stops our do we simply keep ignoring her and hope she gets bored eventually...

Any Advice from someone else who was on a similar position would be much appreciated...

    Wrong forum OP.

Sounds like you need serious advice, AH sometimes will give 'of the cuff' answers.

Tough one though. Tbh, I'd probably try talking it out first with them, no matter how uncomfortable the thought of that would be.

All a lawyer will do, is charge you to send a letter etc to tell the slanderer to stop it.

By that time, most of the lies have been told, and the Chinese whispering will be well under way.

    Best of luck though.

Tell everyone she used to like "doing it" with large dogs. Fight fire with fire. Leave out the bit where she just used to go for long walks, let the innuendo do the work. No point slandering her..

Probably not the best forum for this OP. You could try legal discussion but please read their charter before posting.
