How should a 16 year old go about getting a job?

I figure I could do with a bit of extra money, plus, the experience would probably help me somewhat in the future when looking for a job. I'm still in school, so, it'll obviously only be part time. My mother is telling me to write up a CV and hand it around to places, but, I don't see the point, due to the fact I have absolutely 0 experience and qualifications, should I do it anyway? Or just go around places asking if they'll hire a 16 year old and get an application form?

Alright, I decided to write up a CV anyway, my Junior Cert results were average at best in my opinion, do you think there's any reason to include these in my CV?

    English – Higher Level – B
    Mathematics – Ordinary Level - C
    Irish – Ordinary Level - D
    Geography – Higher Level – B
    Religion – Higher Level – C
    Science – Higher Level – D
    Music – Ordinary Level – C
    Woodwork – Ordinary Level – C
    C.S.P.E. – Common Level – C

Edit: Also, I figure presentation is going to matter if I'm handing in a CV or an application form, should I wear something I'd wear for a special occasion, or just wear a pair of jeans and a nice jacket so it doesn't seem like I'm trying too hard?

Have you thought of doing odd jobs, I used to do it when I was in school and it kept me going for a good while, what about doing kitchen porter work in hotels and restaurants.?

Some local shops keep CVs on file so they have contact details if they need staff.
Put the number of subjects and your english and maths grades.
Give your availability hours and a short statement about how dependable you are, high attendance etc. Put your house number, mobile number and email address on them.
