Sales Companies

There are 2 sales companies iv come across in the last wile. Wont name names unless people want to know them.

Both sell for utility's but both for different companys. As iv said in another thread iv been working this this field for a wile freelance but wanted a role with wage etc

First off with one i was trying to find out if what they did suited me and they more or less wouldn't tell me till i went for an interview and when i told them i wanted to know if it would suit first (as i would have had to go to Dublin for the interview) but i was given no answer from them. It was a simple enough question to me. It seems to be a very unprofessional why to go about business.

The second company told what they did before hand so went to the interview. You got a wage, commission etc all good. Just as an example lets say the basic wage was €250 a week and you got that each week, you had a sales target of 20 sales and week but if you didnt make that you didnt get paid the commission but still got the wage. Say for example you got 17 sales you didnt get paid for the 17 sales yet the company still did.

Can they do that? Really its in there best interest that you dont make the target as they will get paid more if they dont have to pay out commission i would think. I would have taught you should be paid for the sales you've made even if you missed the target? Of course you'll have to make enough sales to cover the cost of the wage etc.

After i found out that the first company do the same thing.

Before anyone asks there not one of the multi level marketing companys as you are an actual employee and not self employed like with them

It's ok to have a threshold over which you gets paid commission but in a target of 20, I would expect to be paid commission on any over 5 for example.

Yes. Say if you got 15 sales in a week, a lot of work would have been put in to get that many sales but you get nothing for it. Maybe nit saying thats the case but maybe thats the way there looking at it, if after a week someone makes 10 plus sales but not make the 20 there going to think ''f*** this why bother put all this work in for nothing'' From my experience working in this field 20 is a crazy target to make

Have a look around and see how many staff are long term in this sales job. My guess would be very few.

Thats my thinking too. Like i said they wont give a s*** how long someone stays along as they make even 2/3 sales there happy. Would there be anything that could be done about it?
