Exchange server security settings.

I recently updated my ROM from 4.0 to 4.1 and when I tried to add an Exchange e-mail account I've been hit with all these access privileges I supposedly have to allow the server to have over my phone.
    Full factory reset.
I didn't have any of this on 4.0. How safe is it to accept this server access to my settings? I'd rather not TBH!

This is usual to see this on any Active sync managed device using Exchange. The reason this exists is that if the phone was stolen, a company's exchange admin can reset the phone.

As for why you didn't get the message before I cannot explain, but you do not need to worry that your phone will suddenly get wiped!

OK, cool, I've accepted their onerous demands and now I'm waiting for the sync. I always find the first full sync occurs pretty randomly in the 24 hours following mailbox setup.
Strangely I can seem to connect to my bog standard google and yahoo mail accounts... go figure.:)
