Ideas for bank with Maintenance free plants

    Heathers grow so slowly that they're quite maintenance free and they flower in spring. I'm not really sure what else though, I'm not into plants that remain the same all the time.
    Perhaps some hydrangeas would look good. They can grow into a large bush eventually, but they look good. There are also cotoneasters too.

    A mix of the following small shrubs will give eventual total coverage and intetest. Plant in groups of 3/4 about 2/3 feet apart.
    Cistus
    Potentillas
    Hebe
    Spireae
    Prunus otto luykens
    Abelia
    Photinia little red robin
    Caryopteris
