Looking for Golf Society

I was wondering if anybody can help me,
I've recently moved to Dublin and i am looking to join a golf Society.
I have a young family so i don't want to join my local pub society as that usually means golf all day and drink all night.

Joining a golf club is out of the question as they are all very expensive.
Even the more competitive ones are quite expensive.

I just want to play golf with a bit of friendly competition.

Does anybody know of any societies like this?

If you're looking for a relativly small society you could check out East Coast golf society.

They seem to offer exactly what you are looking for.
They play once a month from end of april right up till the turkey shoot at the end of november.
I've been playing with them for a few years, the small membership ensures it is competitive but you are always in with a cnance of winning.
They have prizes for 1st 2nd and 3rd and a trophy for 1st place too.

They have an annual membership fee, but it is only €35. which is a bargin.
They play a different course every month and they seem to get the balance just right between nice courses and in expensive ones.

I know foe a fact that new membres are always welcome.

i dont think they have a huge (if any) online presence, but if you or anybody else are interested in joining or getting any more info give me an email and i'd be happy to help you.

Exactly, its good crack and everyone enjoys the days out. You are more than welcome to come along to the next event in Thurles to check it out.

Don't know where you are based but if you are on the Northside or in North County Dublin you should check out the Socity run out of the Portmarnock Sports and Leisure Complex. They play once a month on really good courses and

If you google redwood golf society that might be what your after they play the Dublin region everybody is welcome no joining fee and the lad graham that runs it is sound as are the other lads I've played with.. Just fill in your details on the site and your good to go

I made this mistake on another forum that is nowhere near as strictly moderated as boards.

I am now subscribed to large number of sites for pretty much every kind of porn you can imagine.

Ooops, must actually open my eyes in future. Though I don't understand why people feel the compulsion to go drinking, if you don't want to go, don't go.... Nobody is going to give out if you don't hang around much after because you have other things to do
