No, just output equivalent to what's expected of ps4.

Not much detail was given though. They said it was 8 core AMD x86-64 CPU but that only gives us a ballpark. We won't know how it will compare until they release specs on microarchitecture and clock rate.

As far as a GPU goes they said it will have 18 compute units and a theoretical maximum performance of 1.84 TFLOP/s. In comparison the HD 7850 has 20 compute units and a theoretical maximum 1.76 TFLOP/s. So there is not much between the two.

The 8GB GDDR5 shared memory though will give it a significant advantage. Also the PS4 being a standardized hardware platform will make it a lot easier to optimize for, meaning game designers will be able to squeeze out better performance.

I would say the PS4 will likely beat you PC's performance by a fair margin.

    Your pc is pretty decent.

A year or two into this generation I would imagine your graphics card won't hold up against PS4.

You won't be playing games like BF5 @ 1080p with full details up with your setup.

I would imagine that ports from PS4 like future grand theft auto's, call of duty, tomb raiders, resident evil's etc will require a sizeable increase in specs to play on full details.

PS4 is using a supposedly modified version of a HD7870 and rumored to be GCN2 and it has way more memory potentially available to it's gpu with it's 8gigs of gdrr5, plus a console being way more efficent, with it's apu and unified setup.

You just have to look at Tomb Raider to see how ****e most ports to pc are.

    It's crushing Titan ffs :D

I have no idea how your pc is going to perform with next gen console ports. My guess would be you will need to invest a few euros.

In fairness they admitted it was poorly optimized for Nvidia cards and would be updated with a fix.

I've HD 6950 CF setup and I've been playing it at 2560x1440 with ultimate settings and the 1st level AA (no tresFX) and i've been getting 45fps on average and that would be half the power of a Titan.

TresFX and FXAA will really hammer the frame rate.

A poor PC port is not one which gives low frame rates when you have all the computationally expensive settings turned up to the max, its one where the settings aren't there in the first place. :P.

So do you think my pc will hold it's own against the ps4 (graphics performance wise) for 2 years then i should consider upgrading?

8GB ddr5 memory that is ALOT how much will this console cost?

In fairness that's at 4 times the resolution of consoles with graphics settings that aren't available on consoles. The game looks 10 times better on pc as does Crysis 3 and neither has had driver optimizations yet.

I'd say your pc is likely to be close to the power of ps4 but with high levels of optimization going for the console it will probably push ahead graphically. Saying that if you were to upgrade your card to a high end next gen card you should be able to at least match it.

Stick with what you have for now and when it starts struggling update your graphics card. Have you overclocked anything yet? You should have got a Z77 board to overclock that 3570k.

No I haven't overclocked yet but i will when i have money to buy a new board on graphics card.
