    Question for Primary School teachers as Little Chrismas falls on a Monday next year will schools still be closed?

    Has been discussed at length on IPPN list, up to each school to decide to open on the 6th, according to their ethos, it seems.

    Not according to the Circular:

    "Schools are required to be open to receive all pupils on the weekday immediately preceding and immediately following each break period covered by this agreement".

    Since standardised school years started that's been a condition.

    Sorry, scratch that - it's contradicted twice later in the same document. Typical DES/Teacher Unions!

    In our school we get a letter from the Bishop telling us whether we can open or not. I think it's usually sent out around now or after the Easter break, but this could just be our diocese.
