Weight falling off!

Decided not to diet and to just change what I eat and the weight is falling of, so far 15 pounds gone!

How, simple, gave up ice cream at night (still can eat it for breakfast or lunch) and gave up potato chips and sodas. Getting in a bit of exercise, but most of it is due to the change in what I am eating, and no I'm not living on rabbit food! Having breakfast with an egg and no meat is helping keep the appetite off without the added fat that meats bring to the table.

Have replaced the sweet tooth foods for protein drinks made with coconut milk and berries.

All in choices we make! :)

That's ridiculous, everyone knows the only way to lose weight is to get an operation or go on a fad diet.

Eating healthier is just a nonsense.

Fair play OP. I lost a tonne of weight doing the exact same thing. I just ate (a lot) less crap, and it flew off. Damn, need to start doing it again. I was so lean. Still told everyone it was fad diets and diet pills when they asked :D

    Ah, tomorrow shure

Keep it up, you won't know yourself!

    whats wrong with lean meat?
very little fat in a chicken fillet or steak.

more fat in other things you are eating

    well done so far,

most people dont realise they can lose a lot of weight simply by not drinking soft drinks and not eating crisps.

regarding breakfast tho, i would still go with the meat for breakfast. lots of good fat and protein to set you up in the morning. The best combos for breakfast are bacon and eggs. (back bacon, none of this streaky American stuff) pull the rind off if you wish. Or the very close second choice: steak and eggs.

Have that in the morning and youll kill any mid morning cravings.

Fats are necessary to your diet, and for keeping hunger pangs to a minimum. you should take the time to find out some good fat sources. meat, fish and avocados +nuts are the best places to start.

25 years ago when I gave up meat (except fish) my body fat dropped to 16% I'm female, that's actually too low for me ~ a girl has got to have some curves! I do eat fish and avocados and plenty of nuts, coconut oil and coconut milk. Lots of greens too.

Weight is still falling, going to get some lower size pants for church/work/going out since the ones I got are baggy now. Not going to get too many, plan on getting back into the ones I wore 6 years ago! ;)

everyone knows the only way to lose weight is to get an operation

First, yes I do know you were joking. My sil did that, got her stomach reduced by an operation. I think she is crazy to do that. Now she has to watch everything she eats for the rest of her life, no cheating ....ever! I can have a soda once a month or on weekends but from what I understand she can't ever have one, and I'm talking the rest of her life!!!! She works in the medical field, seems she would have been smarter than that. Yeah she was big, but geez, she wasn't that big. I think it had to do with some of her daughters remarks about being too big to play with the children (her grandchildren) and to me that was pretty dang mean on my nieces part ~ however, my sil should have told her to stick it in her behind and find another babysitter, not dwell on it and go through surgery.

The sad truth is that women are very susceptible to doing stupid (and that's what it was) things for the sake of vanity. It's a terrible truth, and there are many industries who ruthlessly exploit this. Not least the cosmetic surgery industry.

Weigh up everything though before you judge someone who gets surgery. We are constantly bombarded with digitally manipulated images of "women". They're no more representative of women, than the spartans in 300 are of men. Yet it effects people (not just women) greatly. Just turn on your television and all you'll see are people who are not representative of the general population.

For the first time in the history of the world, being skinny is seen as desirable. All because of the availability of high energy, low nutrition food. My own grandmother said that her mother (who was skinny) hated showing her arms because having a bit of fat on you wasn't just attractive, but a sign of being able to feed yourself. That said, "a bit of fat" would be what we consider normal today.

It's a shame that your mother felt driven enough to get surgery. But she's probably the one who regrets it most. Especially as you're a constant reminder that there are better ways to get skinny.

Lastly, for people in the first world, I do not think that it's acceptable to be massively over weight. I just see it as gluttony. However, as a former (major) fattie, I understand how bloody difficult it is.

Again though, well done, and keep up the good work :)
