Quick help needed here. Just did my NCT today and the rear axle is imbalanced out of limits, so it failed.

Does anyone know a place that can diagnose and repair my suspension in the Dublin area? Even better if they can do it on short notice.

I can't imagine anywhere being able to repair the suspension on an Aston Martin at short notice.

    Think your snookered fluffer!
Will ask around for ya but think saintfield or Boucher road best bet.
I can drop it up for ya if your stuck for time, you could ring OPH who mainly look at lotus / Porsche so they may have an idea but let us know either way..

Not positive about this but I think a good 4-wheel alignment will spot the offending wheel.

Hopefully there'll be the usual adjustments to sort the problem.

If it was only marginally over the fail, I'd try another test centre first.

Measuring suspension imbalance is a very rough science and each testing machine will vary.

Why does it need specific diagnosing.. how old and used are the shocks and topmounts? Logically it failed a measured test as the parts are failed.. replace the parts!? :pac:

The NCT guy was great. I could see him getting second advice from his colleague, and when he debriefed me he said that he tried 3 different machines in the centre.
Rear axle was 47Mm nearside, 26Mm offside, with 45% imbalance. 30% is the limit.

I was going to contact www.yomaccars.com (My theory being that Jaguar experience would be useful) but I have a kind PM that I am going to investigate first.

The NCT lads are always great when you have something not run of the mill to be fair.

There is a specialist car guy in Kiltipper, near tallaght. He has examples of work on astons on his web page. http://www.kenplantmotors.ie/

    Hope you get it sorted.

There is a garage near the Glenview Hotel (Wicklow) who sells second hand AMs. Might be worth a shout. Have had no dealings with them so I cannot say what they are like.
