    Hi,

I'm a bit lost at the minute. I want to do something good with my life and have no regrets. I would like to get a degree, but I also want to move abroad and live for at least a year.

I have been to Australia, New Zealand, Dubai, Hong Kong, and the US when I was 18-21. So i have travelled a good bit in my young years. I'm 24 now, I have a good skilled job, which is good. However I dont enjoy it as much as I probably should. It is a good place to work. But I sit at my desk in a daze of what I want to be doing.

So basically I want to know, should I leave the travelling in the past and focus on getting a degree? Or should I go? I don't want to end up coming home to square one again. I just dont want to waist my young years and have any regrets in the future. I'm just not enjoying life, and not getting much fulfillment in anything. Maybe I just think too much...

Any advice would be appreciated, just a bit lost at the moment.

wow you're lucky to have travelled so much at a young age & have a job!

If l were you l'd try figure out what career l want first, save up you're money, then go for you're degree. If you have enough money for college, maybe you could go part time with the job you have atm or get a part time job? That way, if you want, save that money for some bit of travelling. Just cause you'll be in college doesn't mean you won't have time to travel. You have the summer & a weekend here & there, to go somewhere in Europe.

You're aswell off to put the thinking & hard work in now. You'll have plenty of time in the future to travel & when you retire!

Also, if you don't get into college this year or whenever, at least you'll have the job to fall back on & money wise things would be more comfortable.....unemployment is s*it, but look if you get really unhappy with you're job & things get to you, quit.

    good luck :)

    Hi OP,

Would it be feasible for you to kill two birds with one stone, and perhaps study for a qualification abroad? You would be experiencing a different culture (albeit as a student, not as a tourist) and gaining a qualification as well. You may be able to go to Oz/NZ and study. Their academic year starts in Feb, which would give you plenty of time to save up and get organised. I did this myself and it was a great experience. I'm not sure about the procedure for Europe or the US, but I can only see a University degree obtained on mainland Europe as beneficial, especially if you are fluent in another language at the end of it.

If you do study abroad, ensure with the relevent bodies here BEFORE you go that your qualification is as good as one you could get here, that your degree/diploma will be recognised, and you won't have to jump through hoops getting any qualifications obtained abroad validated here. In fairness, most University courses are recognised worldwide but it never hurts to make sure....
