    Looking to buy Limousin bull but not up to date in regardsto breeding names e.g. Mas du clo, Tanka, etc.
    He will be let out with 15 cows and 5 heifers so cannotjustify paying huge money for a 5 star bull but I suppose somewhere in the ‘halfway house’.
    What names should I look out for (or avoid). Must be relativelyeasy calving.

    There's a premier bull sale on in Roscrea on Monday (18 March 2013).
    You can download the catalogue from the limousin site;
    http://www.irishlimousin.com/

    You can go on the number of stars the bull has for Calving Ease. I wouldnt get caught up on the sire of the bull. Afterall, the Dam will contribute equally for every trait. All this will be taking account for anyway in the figures.
    I would avoid anything by Acajou or Elite Erasmus though :)

    I have a stock bull by acajou and I have to say calving difficulty has not been an issue, his first batch of calves are about 2 months d now and are shaping up well and they seem to have brought acajou's growth rate.
