The Irish Chinese Boxing Association begin our competitive year with our Spring Open on the 23rd and 24th of March at Leisurepoint Sport and Fitness club, Cardiffsbridge road, Finglas, Dublin.

This is the 1st Championship Ranking event of 2013 and ranking points will be awarded to affiliated ICBA clubs and these go towards each fighters placing in the National Championships to be held in November 2013.

The Senior divisions (18+ or 16+ with parents and coaches consent) will be held on the Saturday with Sanshou, Qingda (Novice Sanshou) and Tui Shou (Stand up wrestling).

The Junior divisions (8+ - 17) will be held on the Sunday with a 'novice division 2' for those new to the competitive martial arts. Experienced competitors will compete in Division 1.

We would ask all coaches to send us you fighters names and weights by the 19th of March so we can be sure to match everyone up fairly and run the event promptly and to our highest standards.

icbasanshou@gmail.com for registrations and for sending you fighters list.

Also please see the attached Poster for more details.

We look forward to seeing you all at the event.

    Paul Moran

    General Secretary of the ICBA

As there was allot of interest in the Chinese Wrestling event (and appears to be again for our next event), please take a read through the rules and spread the word about!

I need those entering to send on their name, weight and club name by Tuesday the 19th.

    Goodluck

Might be worth putting up a link for those new to the sport. For tui shou, we practice to British open rules, which I believe are the same as ICBA. Sweeps, throws, locks, leg seizes allowed but no strikes, head locks, finger locks, chokes, or gouging.
