I currently have a 90cm dish with disequilibrium and I receive 3 satellites ie. regular Astra for uk channels, hot bird and the Astra for Spanish and German.

If I upgrade my dish from 90cm to 110cm would I get any more satellites? I live in midlands.

Do u mean diseque with 3 lnb attached to urban dish,
I'd recommend the 1.1 and go motorised, I have trial 1.1 motorised,
but depends on what u want to pull in.
Mbc's on 26 can also be got with the 1.1

DiSEqC: Digital Satellite Equipment Control. It's an acronym.

Yes i mean my current on has three seperate lnb's on one bar giving me the option to select any one of the three satellites.

If you buy a Triax 1.1 then you will be able to receive 13east, 16east, 19.2east, 23.5 east and 28.2east

All the best with the project.

The correct diameter for a dish is (d + 20cm), where d is the diameter of your current dish :pac:

Seriously, a larger reflector will nearly always be an advantage, especially for sats which may be from an offest LNB which is not getting the benefit of the full reflector face area due to the offset.

motorise it..get loads more..and keep same dish

True, you would then get more options, though you will always have *the wait* to contend with.

I had a motor myself, but after a while realised there were only 4 sats I was actually ever watching about 99% of the time anyway. In that case the relative instant swtiching using 4 LNBs and a 4-1 switch seemed the better option.

If you buy a Triax 1.1 then you will be able to receive 13east, 16east, 19.2east, 23.5 east and 28.2east
That spread is easily achievable on the OP's current dish with no need to change his dish.
    To illustrate I have 4.8e, 9/10e, 13e, 16e, 19.2e, 23.5e and 28.2e all set up on a Triax TD88.
Granted a larger dish will allow stronger reception and higher rain attenuation margins but it is doable on his current setup
That said a 1.1mtr dish aligned on 26e(lots of FTA there) would be a great option as a starting point for a new spread.
motorise it..get loads more..and keep same dish
Motorising it would be an option, but it restricts you to watching one sat at a time.
you cant watch one sat whilst recording another(No Multisat DVR),
you can't set up a workable multiroom setup from a motorised dish,
You have to wait to switch between sats.
Depending on where you mount the dish it can be quite noisy(If on wall outside a bedroom or similar)
And given the fact that this is Ireland....
Unless you have a very sheltered location you will have to be prepared to park the dish during high winds(Restricting viewing to whatever you point at)
And you will be up a ladder every once in a while to realign however careful you may be.

    ...

This is very true. If you go for the motorised option be prepared to have to tweek from time to time.

^ Still wouldn't be able to receive satellites below the horizon.

Its a quantum satellite able to pick up a variety of horizons...that may or may not exist
