And Parra is referenced as his opposite number. Impressive amount of errors for such a short paragraph

Obviously the tea lady had to cover someone on sick leave...

Glaring errors in the article aside, Jackson deserves some praise here. He was good against Scotland except for his place kicks.

The guy asked to be released from Ireland to go play for Ulster to try and sort his kicking out and it really paid off. A man of the match performance against Treviso and then an assured game for Ireland including off the tee with 2 particularly impressive penalties in there. And now named in the team of the week.

Fair play to the guy, the attitude is there, the ability is there and with more game time and experience he will be great IMO. He will not be long becoming the main place kicker at Ulster and should give Sexton / Madigan / whoever some serious competition for the green 10 shirt.

Here's a thought, when was the last time there was so much competition for the 10 shirt? Next season, if Madigan starts for Leinster we'll have great choice. Sexton better keep on his toes.

Another young guy who's came in and did very well... delighted to see it.

Competition for places is what should drive performances and at 10 we should see that in the next few years.

Some mistake. The BBC commentary team were guilty of a few during the game lavishing praise on BOD for a trademark steal when it was pretty obvious it was Marshall which they finally noticed in the replay and mistaking Reddan for Madigan when he got injured

Thought he was pretty anonymous against France to be honest. . Stood too far back and barely once got the line moving.. and the abandoned drop kick attempt that he handed off to Kearney was a huge error that cost us an important scoring opportunity. . Granted, his kicking was far better than in Murrayfield but aside from the kicking I actually thought he had a much better game against Scotland.. I would have preferred to see him focus on his general game and allow McFadden to kick the goals.

Think you're being overly harsh. It wasn't a day to be linking up with the backs. Even Sexton would've stuggled. Thought he was good, confident and did exactly what was asked of him. Defended well, and kept his cool under pressure. The pass to Kearney made sense, he didn't have the space for the DG. His dummy against Parra showed nerves of steel imo.

DG wasnt on for either of them and Jackson should have known that . . he dropped back in the pocket but without giving himself enough space to even have a crack when really he should have been calling the play to keep driving the phases through the pack . . showed a lack of maturity IMO . . and I dont expect him to have that maturity but I also dont think the plaudits he is getting make sense. . he did very little..

agree that the Parra dummy was class.

'amble replacement' - I thought Paddy was fairly quick around the park myself.

Even Woodie kept it up after the game was over! This after one of the commentators went "eehhhhh... isn't that 22? Madigan?".

Eddie Butler did this quite a few times during the match. Confused McFadden with Heaslip at one stage and then Medard, the man with the most distinctive facial hair in rugby, gets called Huget... Even my missus copped it and that's saying something.

They even quoted the irish physios confirming that Madigan had a serious leg injury.
