    Hi there everybody,

My name is James and im looking to start bike polo in cork. Firstly for those who do not know what bike polo is, I will try and do my best to explain.

Teams consist of three players on each side, similar to horse polo except on bikes..the bikes do NOT have to be fixies, anybike will do. Each player has a mallet and the first team to 5 goals wins.

As a sport it was originally founded in Ireland, therefore it is our duty to be good at it :) Nowadays it is played on concrete e.g on a tennis court or basketball court.

Please note: this sport is highly addictive and great fun.

the location of games is yet to be set but anyone who is interested please contact me <snip> Mod note - no telephone numbers - contact via PM only

    Hi James,

Did this get off the ground after? Just seen a bike on campus in UCC advertising cork bike polo.

    Hi James

I am interested in giving it a go! I met a guy in Cork in August last year trying to start it up but I never heard anything more about it. I'm around UCC too but haven't seen the bike polo adverts! Hope you're still trying to set it up as it looks like a good laugh.

Yeah the polo is in full swing...PUN! It's played every wednesday at the cork indoor skatepark 7pm. Cork skatepark is on the monaghan road, if you know the petrol station there by the Careys tool hire its just down the road from that. Please come along as the more numbers the more interesting it is.

What do you need to play? A bike obviously but anything we should know?

Do you've to pay for access to the skate park?
