Just got my provisional license. Looking at buying a car and just wondering what cars would be cheap to insure and that look decent? and what insurance company would you recommend? I would like something that wouldn't be too expensive to insure for a provisional license in my own name.

Has anyone got any ideas of cars(a list would be great )?

What insurance companys would you recommend/think that would be good for me?

Don't see anything about recommended cheap cars to insure for someone on a provisional license? and recommended insurance for a provisional driver?

Small, 1.0L will be the cheapest to insure for someone on a LP...Micra, Yaris etc.

The reason you will not find exact answers to your questions is because there are no exact answers. The cost of insurance is based on so many variables which depends on the individual being insured as well as the car they are insuring. It's like asking how long is a piece of string really.

The general rule is that small cars with small engines are usually the cheapest to insure. But you will have to ring around the various insurance companies and insurance brokers to get an exact figure as nobody here can tell you how insurance companies compile their quotes.
