    Hi folks
Just out of curiosity what type of training would you go through for direct entry, particularly for an engineer?
I only ask because it would definately interest me when i finish my degree but i cant see them recruiting anytime soon!

A six week "Shoot & Salute" course used to be the norm, but with the increased emphasis on Combat Engineering you might find the period of training lengthened. After all you don't join to sit at a desk doing the same job, only in a green suit

There's a huge number of qualified engineers who came through the cadetship process, so much so that they hold competitions to get into the corps, so I cant see them taking in engineer DEs anytime soon.
