    hi,

does anyone know where could i get a small wire brush to clean out an internal thread/female thread. its a 5mm wide hole around 15 mm deep. i'm thinking of a bottle brush type thing. the thread is cut into cast iron if that helps.

    thanks

Do you know if its a metric or imperial thread. I'd put wd40 or alcohol into it then run a tap down it if you have the correct size one...

You can get small 'bottle' brushes, they are used for cleaning out firearms etc... So hunting / fishing places would have them.

Are you trying to torque something down precisely hence want the threads clean? I'd probably use wd40 and run a bold in/out of it a load of times, cleaning the bolt with a tooth brush each time

Dremel and other multi tools come with small wire brushes might be worth a look.

If you use a bolt, cut a few grooves lengthways in it with a junior hacksaw.
Thread it in and out a couple of times.

.22 or 5.56mm brass wire brush for firearms your best bet.
