    Fixing bad bend and bad bridges does involve building new carriageway. I would expect a few bridges over the Royal Canal and Maynooth Railway to be replaced in the next few years between Cabra and Leixlip ....just watch. :D

    n11 upgrade between rathnew and arklow been put off since 2009 and before. the start date keeps being pushed forward last date i heard was April this year
    we will wait and see

    PPP funded roads are not included in Leos statement, they are to go ahead as totemic symbols of the virility of the national finances. These account for 2 projects in Wexford 1 in Wicklow 1 in Dublin and 2 in Galway.

    I assume the N17-N18 Gort -Tuam is one of them.

    The other PPP for Galway is the Bypass, but that will not be going ahead in 2013, even if the courts rule favourably, as it has not yet been tendered (which takes 6-12 months for large projects).

    I wouldn't bet a single cent on any of them starting before the run-in to the next election. :mad:
