Hi all, I'm looking for a jeep again and am pretty much decided on a navara.I had one new in 2007 from the company I worked for but since 2009 have been driving a van again.I was looking for a navara back inn 2012 but decided to buy a passat instead but am now at a point where I need a vehicle that the company can pay for without it costing me BIK so it must be commercial but I do occasionally carry a few employees so ideally want a crew cab.

My budget is €10k inc vat and I don't want anything per 07 so the only option I can come up with is a navara. What are you folks opinions on them and is there any other options I'm missing?

Engines go pop for no reason, Major bearing failure, you can service it every day, would change fact it will go at some point, its a design flaw on the 2.5

unless you can pick up a 3.0 navara, kinda rare, but few out there, better engine its shared with the Patrol , But hard to find a 3.0 litre navara, unless you go for 2010 onwards, they only use the 3.0 i think, 2.5 was kicked out due to all the failures of that engine

here is a old Navara 3.0 . Only one I can find
Like I said, rare to find this year in a 3 litre

Navara also had a shocking result in the euroncap tests, worst recorded for a modern vehicle if I remember correctly:

They fixed a lot of these issues through recalls etc. I think so double check that the work was done.

Would you consider a d-max? I don't know how they compare on reliability but IMO they look much nicer than the navara

Euro NCAP today releases results for its assessment of the modified Nissan Navara. The upgraded car has achieved three stars for adult occupant protection. After Euro NCAP’s earlier tests highlighted serious safety concerns, Nissan promptly modified all new production vehicles and initiated a Service Campaign to upgrade the airbag software of all Navaras produced since 2005.

Euro NCAP recently released a struck-through one star rating for the 08 model year Navara. The poor rating was due in part to the delayed firing of the airbag in the frontal impact test. Nissan reacted swiftly and developed new airbag software to ensure better occupant protection. Production Navaras are now equipped with the improved software and an extensive Service Campaign is underway to upgrade owners’ vehicles .

Nissan also asked Euro NCAP to assess the modified vehicle to ensure that its performance had improved. Euro NCAP’s new assessment reveals that Nissan have effectively addressed the airbag malfunction, removing the high risk of life-threatening injuries seen in the earlier test. Dr Michiel van Ratingen, Secretary General of Euro NCAP says ‘Nissan have acted responsibly and promptly in response to our findings. Euro NCAP hopes that by releasing this new result, it will speed up the Service Campaign and ensure that all Navaras are upgraded to the higher safety specification.’

that only happen only in the 02 to 05 d22 navara and if you upgrade the bearing and bolt it will not go pop.

Cheers for the opinions. I've been thinking about the need to carry employees and I might be able to avoid this.so that has got me looking at Normal commercial jeeps. What would ye all think of a pajero instead of a navara , would be still an 07 or 08?would it be a safer buy?

Huh? A Crew Cab is usually a commercial vehicle.

For the purposes of BIK though, you'll get hit at the full rate if there are seats behind driver.

    Hi guys.
    Have an 06 Navara.
Would any of you know where I could get a replacement front roof crossbar second hand or new? I tied ladders on too tight and the plastic at the end of the bar snapped.

Anyone selling a mountain top or roller? Or know someone selling one? Or know where you can get them cheap? Thanks
