    Hey folks,

Could you recommend anywhere in or around Swords with decent wifi, power outlets, and good coffee?

(context: Thinking about working out of the office for a day or two)

Nice one. Didn't know there was one in the Pav. Show's how much I'm in Swords :p

    Update:

So with nothing better to do on my Sunday, I decided to scope out a few places.

Went to Starbucks in the pav first. Wifi didn't work at all (and when I asked the staff they said they couldn't fix it), food was disgusting, coffee was awful. So thats out :pac: I don't get why starbucks is so successful at all.

Secondly I went to The Old Schoolhouse pub, wi-fi wasn't great. I'd rate it poor/unusable for what I needed. Fine pints & food though.

Thirdly I went to a coffee shop (Cafe Libra or some such) at the back of Hughes & Hughes in the pavillions. Coffee was fine, wifi was decent, staff were nice and the chairs were comfy. Also it was fairly quiet which was good. (Wifi was standard eircom connection. Definitely the best I'd come across so far).

Lastly (or so far) I've ended up in the Gourmet Burger Kitchen (also in the pav). Decent wifi, though a little bumby at first. I've been here 30 mins now and it's working fine, only downside is that it doesn't support an FTP connection, so it's essentially useless for my needs. Nice chicken wings though!

And thats it! I'll throw up another update if I find anywhere better tomorrow. Maybe it might be of some use to someone.

    Further update:

The epic tale continues :pac:. Having consumed my wings & quaffed my beverage, I found that the GBK wi-fi had a 40 minute time-out. In sooth, I was quite disheartened by this discovery.

Upon the 40 mins, it cut me off, asking for a admin login and password. After spending about 10-15 mins trying to hack the login with some SQL injections, failing, and quaffing another pint, I left.

On to the radisson blu by the airport for a nightcap to continue my scientific research into the quality of wi-fi in swords.

Expect to see my findings empirical data published in any good scientific journal.

(PS: If anyone boardsies are about feel free to drop me a PM if you fancy meeting for a pint/coffee :))

    Adieu!

Is anyone else speculating that KonFusion is now happily sozzled in the radisson?

I can now confirm radisson has the finest wifi in all the realm! :D

I offered them my renowned 'seal of amazing wifi' to the hotel staff, albeit hastily drawn on a napkin, however they were reluctant to display it in any area of prominence. Perhaps they were unawares of it's international recognition and gravitas as being the foremost wifi something something...!

Met some lovely German folk who were happy to share a pint and discuss the quality of wifi in their home town after hearing my plight :pac:

All in all a fitting end to a successful investigation/Sunday.

Now I'm off to bed cos I'm feck'd. Happily sozzled indeed! :pac:

    Gnight boards!

Do I get a prize for having identified the place most suitable to your needs :D?

I've used the place for business meetings in the past, it's pretty good :)
