No match thread? Might aswell open one. Hope the Scotts can give a good account of themselves and make a game of it. The Lions fullbacks battle should be exciting, with the electric Stuart Hogg facing the defensively solid Leigh Halfpenny.

No reason why they can't imo, there's not a huge amount between the sides and if they stay organised they can stay in it. Would be remarkable if they won it, they'd have 3 wins from 4 so far.

Leigh Halfpenny is rugbys Gareth Bale according to the BBC! Also they said he hasn't missed a tackle in.......wait for it...... over 700 minutes of international rugby!

    Impressive stat.

Last missed tackle was 2 years ago against Ireland, I wonder who bumped him.

The missed tackles statistic refers only to 6N rugby. He has missed tackles in plenty of other games.

I don't have a video of it but I'm almost positive he missed a tackle against the All Blacks in Autumn.

Oh right, didnt realise. Still impressive regardless

I'd be leaning towards Scotland on this one. They've always had the guts of a good team but failed to perform on the day or when they do, fail to keep it up for the full 80 mins. There's always been something unpredicable about the Scots and a lot of people seem to forget that the notion that a comfortable away win at Murrayfield for Ireland being a forgone conclusion is a relatively recent thing.

Scotland back-to-back 6N victories and at home. Easy to see they are up for it!

Frankie is actually a decent co-comm, shame he is such a profiteering mountebank.

Good to see Hogg check if Halfpenny was ok after he hooked his arm accidentally in the air.

    poor again from halfpenny.

3 missed kicks from 1/2penny now

North doing his best Earls impression there!

  • Scotland going to win another one of the "How on Earth?" games?

North showing a fair bit of Earlsism there

  • Hibbard wriggles over finally.

    Scotland 6 - 10 Wales (22 min)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,154 ✭✭✭✭Neil3030

    North doing an Earls

    Halfpenny doing a Jackson

    :pac:

That could be the end of Gary's lions hoped :(

Slow arse game. Cant believe we're only 30 odd mins in.

I wonder if Gray would beat a big horse in a fight. I think he would.

  • Nice from Weir.

Reminiscent of what we were screaming for during the WC vs Wales!

scotlands technique on engagement at the scrum is very interesting

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,836 ✭✭✭✭Pudsy33

The scrum is an absolute shambles

  • Laidlaw could only make this by an inch or two

    ha, so he does!

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,664 ✭✭✭opinionatedfan

a lot of talk at scrum time

  • braindead

Jim Hamilton is the most brainless player I've ever seen. There was one 6N game last year where he gave away 5-6 ridiculously stupid penalties, i'm no Scotland fan but it was infuriating to watch

In fairness to him Phillips had his hands on the ball and was looking to move it. I know it's down to the ref, but the laws state he's open to be played at that stage. However, Hamilton is very naive to think Joubert would interpret that close to the law.

is Tom McGuirk looking very grey in the face these days or is it just my TV?

George Hook: "Camps in Poland are not something I like to talk about."

Think i just had a stroke after hearing that.

  • Gray off for a Hamstring injury apparently (BBC). Only taken off as a precaution.

Didn't look like a hammy to me!

  • That's more like the Warburton we used to know.

I could have flown over and still got in for support before any of the Scottish players for that penalty.

Must correct myself here, there's a very significant reason. Craig Joubert.

He already told them he would. They new what they were risking. Ridiculous from the Scots, more like.

My Nanny is more attractive than this game. Snore.

    Pure spoof from Frankie there.

No wonder we have such difficulty beating southern hemisphere sides when this is the standard of the 6 nations....roll on the heineken and amlin challenge cups

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,708 ✭✭✭ScissorPaperRock

The standard has been awful alright

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,802 ✭✭✭bluefinger

    two knock ons missed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,772 ✭✭✭toomevara

Holy Mother of God, this is the rugby equivalent of two bald men fighting over a wig. Hard to believe this is supposed to represent the pinnacle of NH rugby...as bad a 6N game as I've seen....utter drivel. And we think Irish rugby is in a parlous state...
