There's no contest here, get the Core i3. That AMD processor is netbook-class.

    Intel Core i3 2328M 2636 points

    AMD E2-1800 860 points

I was looking at buying the i3 laptop as well. What do you think . How do they rate. Is it worth looking into getting an extended warranty and accidental damage cover?

The i3 is an old model (Sandy Bridge). How much is the cashback saving? Laptops with a current generation Core i3 (faster and better graphics) selling for less than €350 these days.

thanks for your reply. I was thinking that the hp i3 laptop was good. 110e cashback. total cost is 300e including cash back and delivery. Can you recommend any laptops or where can I get an i3 laptop for less than 350. I am looking around for a new laptop ideally a reliable one and used for word , office etc, but preferably with good spec and also preferably a numeric keyboard if possible.

That's an OK deal for stock clearance.

You buy cheap, you get cheap... this is true for HP, PB or any other brand.

Can't find any Core i3 Tosh for 350 yoyos.

No, the company is based in the UK, their webshop is registered in Ireland.

Which must have been installed later. When Windows 8 was released, they didn't make Sandy Bridge laptops anymore. Keep in mind, batteries do indeed age, even if they have never been used. The HP is already a year old at least and has been catching dust on the shelves since. Only yesterday I have seen a "brand new" Tosh with a Core i3 370M (1st gen) and Windows 8, the battery had a label from 2010. It was bought last week in a shop for €600... unbelievable.

Cheapest Ivy Bridge Tosh would be this one for £363/€412. SOL charge a tenner for delivery, IIRC.
