    Hi all,I currently have an old Grundig Sky Box,no sky subscription,(box is probably about 10 years old)
    same as this one;

    I can pick up channel 5,5 USA and 5* on this.

    Is there any Sat and Saorview receiver that also has a Hard Drive I can record onto that will pick up these channels?
    There is a card in the box I have,so not sure if this has any bearing on this?

    Not familiar with this box but I'd imagine so as they are all gone fta. Have a look at the tuning guide sticky and have a scan for them.

    Edit : Scanning 10.964/H/22000 should pull them all in.

    Any satellite tuner will get these channels no problem.

    There are a number of combi satellite/terrestrial boxes available, with threads running in the terrestrial forum. These include the Ferguson Arivas & what seems to be a current favourite, the Amiko Alien 2. Also a handful of Saorview approved combis. These all require external storage for recordings afaia.

    Not sure about receivers sold with an internal HDD, or possible to be retrofitted with one.

    Thanks for the replys folks,
    been looking at a few options,seems that a 7 day EPG is available for Saorview but only Now and Next for the Freesat channels on what I've seen so far,is this the case on all recievers?

    Freesat is a brandname, with receivers being licenced to access 7-day EPG info from a proprietary system. There are no Freesat branded combis & a lot will only get the same 'now & next' as any generic FTA (free-to-air) receiver.

    Some (example linked in my other post) have a few tricks up their sleeve in this department.

    Have a look at this post, it should explain the situation wrt single box solutions for Irish & UK tv.

    If you want full functionality & reliability 'off the shelf', you'll need separate Saorview & Freesat equipment.
