Leap Card Question

I realise this may have been asked before, but I'm kind of in a rush..
Anyway, I received my leap card today, I purchased it online and added 10 euro at purchase. I haven't registered the card itself yet, but I do intend to, but what I'm wondering is, should I be able to use the card tomorrow morning?

    Thanks

Registering the card isn't mandatory - it just means you can claim back any unused credit from the card if it's lost or stolen. I think you should be okay to use the card without doing anything else but I could be wrong.

Thank you, I get it now.

If it helps, I bought the card on the 27th of Feb

markpb is correct. You don't have to register the card, but if you don't and it gets lost or stolen then you can't claim back any unused credit.

But my issue is, should my card work tomorrow because I bought it online? Or do I have to go and activate the credit?

So you added the €10 at the same time as buying it online? I'm not 100% sure of that, my guess is you'd need to activate the credit at a DART or Luas terminal.

I think when you buy it online and add credit when purchasing you can use it straight away. We have 5 in the house all bought online with 20euro credit each and I dont remember having to do anything extra..

It can take up to 48hrs for credit to be added onto the leap card when topping up online. If your card doesnt work tomorrow then it could be that .

Oh, I forgot to mention, I intend only to use it with busses.. I know I can't update my credit using the bus, but the credit I purchased along with the card should be fine for first time use tomorrow?

Hi, I tagged on to Luas this morning and forgot to tag off. If I tag off now 9 hours later at the Luas stop will it recognise it or will it considered a new tag on after such a length of time?

If I don't tag off, later I will be getting the train home this evening so don't want to "tag off" at the train station when my intention is to "tag on" in case a ticket inspector thinks I havent' tagged on...hope this isn't confusing!

the tag on / tag off doesn't continue between Luas and Irish Rail.

If you didn't tag off on Luas, you won't get the credit which makes up the difference from tag on how much you travelled back.

tagging on with Irish Rail now, will make no odds to it.

Just ring Leap and tell them that you forgot to tag off and where. They will sort it for you.
