Dont usually back the week before Cheltenham but seen Posh Emily is running again today I am pretty sure one of the lads tipped her a few weeks back (Rossom?) so I will keep the faith that she improves today for the better ground, runs in the first at Sandown ( has been 1st and 3rd in this race before) worth a tenner win @ 8/1.

Cockney trucker is running in the 16:00 at Leicester.

Was tipped by aidankkk, I think, last weekend as he needed a win to get into a h'cap at cheltenham.
Was just pipped by an unexposed one.

Down in class now and very well handicapped.
Cat out of the bag now though, so only 7/4 - 2/1
Unlikely to get in next week, they'll want to get a win into him to aim him at Aintree or P'town

Also, Up to the Mark at Sandown 14:50
In front of a subsequent winner last time. same mark. H Daly in form.

Refused to race. Unreal eh ? Depending on your bookie you'll get your money back. I won't.

Because it came under orders therefore is considered a runner.

Some bookies will pay you as a non runner (out of decency or for good publicity). For example, I know that Bar One Racing do. My bookies doesn't. It ran as far as he is concerned.

'Tis indeed but it's always been the way 'til fairly recently.

Free money for the bookie until the first one started paying it out as a non runner for publicity and now a few of them do but only Irish based one's as far as I'm aware.

First a yoke that refused to race. Now a faller at the second. Think it's one of those days. Anybody need a train stopping ?

No. Remember, No rule 4 applies to the SP price of the winner.

For as often as it happens and for what it would cost a bookie annually I think it's very good business for the guys that pay it out as a non runner.

If I had a choice today with who I backed with I would of used Bar One Racing for this reason.

They also pay on the 4th if a horse pulls out of a 16 runner handicap thus reducing the field to 15.

Things like that just make good business sense in my opinion.

They seem to be backing the second and third fav against it. "top of the range" in particular seems to be attracting the dosh.

But if you made it the rule, think of the abuse it would be open to?

    Say a race has a 1/3 fav, 4/1 2nd fav and 20/1 Bar

So the jockey plants the 1/3 fav at the start and the clear 2nd FAv wins and you have to pay out at 4/1 without a Rule 4 deduction of 75 cent in the Euro, that would have been applied if it did not come under starters orders:eek:

Barney Curley etc would make hay !

So, I can understand it been done by some occasionally on a concession basis, but it could never be made the normal rule.

Today, the backer of Posh Emily loses but those that backed the winner benefited from no Rule 4 deduction. Swings and roundabouts.

I hear and and I'm not suggesting it becomes the rule.

I'm just saying that when I get the chance I cover ALL angles (like the nil-nil or no goal scorer market) and bet with the appropriate bookie but I couldn't today.

Anybody getting their money back today will be more likely to bet with that bookie again. It just makes business sense for a bookie to do it in my opinion.

Lady of Burgundy looks slightly overpriced in the last at Wolverhampton. Currently around 8/1
