Hi, I am looking for wedding transport in the west of Ireland and I need help! I am looking for a modern car. There's only one company available on the day but there offering vintage cars which is not my taste. I am looking for a modern car and I think I will need two.

Its a short trip of 15 mins from the house to the church and from the church to the venue is also 20 mins roughly. There will be a stop off of 15 mins or so for photos.

I dont know anyone with a nice car that could chauffeur the bridesmaids or groomsmen. Any advice on car hire or alternative transport? Thanks so.much guys!

I would hire a car. It would only be about E40 for 24hours.

Ask someone in the family with a full licence to be chauffeur - people will only be too delighted to help.

My sister is using my car for her wedding and my partner is driving. The car is a couple years old, but as they aren't into cars, it suits them.

I may look into it....I feel bad asking ppl to drive us.......Im sure they wont mind but its a bit of hassle with organising cars been picked up as were having our wedding venue in the countryside in the west....

Any suggestions for places in Sligo/Longford/Roscommon area to hire a nice car?
I know its luck of the draw with these companies too, they cant guarantee the car you book is the car you will get!

The one problem with getting a friend or family member to drive you is, the drive from church to photo location is the only time that day that you get to be together to chill out and chat to each other. If a friend etc is driving you will feel the need to talk to them or watch what you say to each other. All the couples that i have driven have agreed that it was very nice and well worth the money to chill out and relax and to have a great looking car in their pictures. I'm based in Wexford so cost may be an issue with the travel involved but if you want to contact me you can look up www.weddingcar.ie

What about a local garage? They all have cars that they lend to people while the car is being serviced. Maybe they would be willing to hire out a car for a couple days?? And people don't mind driving. Maybe ask someone who maynot be able to afford a wedding gift? Driving could be in lieu??

Wexford12 - i'm in Wexford also, maybe in touch next year about wedding cars :) We just need to get our asses in gear and set a date.
