    Spoilers (taken from the Charter/FAQs)

Spoiler tags are used hide commentary about race results from boardsies who haven't watched a race live and are waiting to catch up later in the day. If you don't know what a spoiler tag is, find out. If you break the rules on spoilers, expect severe punishment. We wait all year to follow the big races so don't ruin it by being thoughtless.
    • For non-stage-specific threads about stage races (e.g. "TdF 2011"), use spoiler tags until midnight.
    • For one-day races, expect threads to contain spoilers once the race has begun. Please endevour to use spoiler warnings in the thread title.
    • In threads about specific stages of stage races ("Paris-Nice 2010 Stage 3") or one day races don't use spoiler tags. If you haven't seen the race, don't open the thread. Don't put any information about the result, either with or without spoiler tags in the first post, since the mouse-over feature doesn't work on spoiler tags. For the avoidance of any doubt, use spoiler tags when posting information relating to the current day's stage in a thread dedicated to the next day's (or any other subsequent) stage before midnight.

Following feedback 8/11/14, it is now permitted to create a stage thread without spoiler tags for any future stages. This means that threads for future stages will contain spoilers for all previous or current stages
    • Don't post anything which even hints at a same-day race result in a non-stage or race specific thread before midnight. For instance: re-opening the Jens Voight thread with a link to Paris-Nice results, or creating a thread named "Vuelta stage win reported on RTE *Spoilers ahead*" which hints that an Irish rider has won.
    • If you follow the above rules, there is no need to create "contains spoilers" type threads. This is ambiguous since one person's spoiler is another persons spoiler tag.
On this last point, I have started including in thread titles "warning, contains unmasked spoiler information" to make it clear that opening the thread will reveal spoiler information.

Boards rules prohibit links to streaming

    Doping speculation

    From the Charter
No speculation over potential doping offenders - Comment on information (including press articles) in the public domain is OK, but allegations must be verifiable with information that is in the public domain.
So now we know - Armstrong has not only been found guilty but has admitted it. Hence you can now call him a "doper", as you can with the likes of Contador and Frank Schleck (but only in connection with past misdemeanours - you must not speculate that someone back from a ban is currently doping)

However if a rider has not been proven to have doped, do not even hint at they may have. Asking a question as to whether someone who has not been proven to have doped is a doper is tantamount to speculation. If in doubt don't post - that way you will avoid the cards and/or bans

    Any questions, PM the mods

As it's no longer "seasonal" I'm unstickying this. However the rules remain in place and must be observed whether this thread is visible at the top of the forum or not

Edit: Un-unstuck by Darkglasses for the 2015 season.

When it comes to doping speculation, please do not try to get your "message" across in what you consider a "subtle" way - you may think you are being smart by saying a performance is "unbelievable" or comparing it to those of previously disgraced riders, but you're not. Such posting is likely to fall foul of the no doping speculation rule, and result in a card or ban (until at least the end of the Tour, although longer bans will be considered for posters with a history of such posting). The message is simple - don't go there and you stay out of trouble
