Ok lads - the media have had their day in the sun with the Rory story.

    But as golf fans here.
What do you see this little blip as - just that or something else ?
Are you surprised by the club changeover problem - or do you believe there is one at all ?
When do you see him back , winning a major ?
    Anything Else ?

I know it is only our opinion - but , I'd value opinions on here a bit more than the media circus around Rory.

I think it's time to dig out the old Scotty. He's really struggling with the weight of his putts.

I think he will win the Masters.. He just needs a good week to get back in the hunt and he will be flying..

Dorals greens are pretty damn quick and a few players are struggling with pace, he is looking a but better this last few holes so would be good if he got back in the hunt this week and go on to win the masters and all this will be forgotten

Remember his early summer form in 2012?

He'll be alright. He's had so many dips in form before. Pretty sure that's all it is

He was +2 on back nine - awful.

He would need a good under par round this week - to be talking about him for Masters. Way off that today.

Doral is playing as easy as it can yet Rory couldn't even shoot level par. I think he'll do well just to make the cut.

Edit - I just realised there is no cut.

Don't think there is one ?

What amazes me is that the question is even being asked about his 'form'. One tournament, it's a looonnng season ahead. He'll win at least one of the majors this year.

I'm reserving judgement until the Masters - partly to give him time to sort himself out and partly because the first Major of the year will be a focus for him. Clearly there are problems but as a great golfer he should be able to sort them out. Otherwise he may become like Padraig H - a man who made changes when they were least needed.

Not sure how many snooker fans are here but it's funny making the comparisons between McIlroy and snooker's "young superstar" Judd Trump. Trump tends to drastically go up and down in form too - he has won the UK (one of the 'majors') but hasn't really threatened much since then. It's got to be an issue with 'doubt' creeping into their game, as an abundance of self-confidence rewards a great cue-action/swing, can't see any other real reason for it.

In a way their unpredictable form makes them both exciting to watch, as there is always potential for a collapse in form even midway through a tournament - on the other hand though they may be a risky bet. Having said that, you can say the same about the Irish rugby team and they only have us shouting at the tv. :P

Not at all happy with the 'walk off' last week.
    Says volumes about his confidence.
Hope he does well at the Cadillac, but doubt he will.
    Comparisons with Harrington are obvious.

Form is temporary, class is permanent.

    Hopefully this is the comeback.

It was all a storm in a tea cup. Hopefully. :)
