    Hi everyone,

Just making a recent return to cycling and wondering what the history of the bike park in DIT Kevin Street is like? I mean is it a hotspot for thieves? Do the porters have a good eye on it?

I have a few bikes at the house and just wondering to what level am i going to have to lock it and which bike to bring?

    Any info appreciated, cheers!

Lock it well, and try put it in a visible spot. Have had parts/wheels stolen from kevin street.

Cheers, I have heard of one or two semi-high end bikes being taken out on Wexford St / Camden St....so obviously the college campus is no exception to this. Cable and D Lock it is so.

Maybe use the multi-story at the back of the fitzwilliam? it's just down the street a little and it's a secure spot.

When I was at dit a class mate had his bike stolen from right outside the class, they managed to unlock the u lock take the bike and lock the u lock back again to the tree.

2 years ago, a friend left his bike for the weekend at the rear of the old building. When he returned on Monday it had been badly vandalised and they even tried to set fire to it. I presume it was the kids from Iveagh house - though I may be wrong.

I'm in my fourth year in DIT. You'll be grand being honest. Just lock it securely.

Not worth locking it in one of the shelters in the likes of Drury street car park. Realistically you just wont be bothered after the first day.
