Signal problems with Hotbird 13e

    Hi,

I have a motorised setup for three dishes 28.2e, 19.2e and Hotbird 13e with a technomate tm500 super receiver.

Everything was working perfect until the other night when I foolishly connected my mate's receiver to my dish to check something on it.

When I connected my own receiver back, I lost signal on all three of the satellites, after many hours of frustration I managed to get a lock on 28.2e and 19.2 east using USALs, but no lack with the 13e, the motor drives the dish to the 13e position but I can not get a signal on it:(.

Could anyone please point me to what I am missing, bearing in mind I am a complete noob when it comes to these sort of things.

    Thank you.

Im a bit confused. Do you have a motor or a diseqc switch with 3 lnbs? If you had a motor you'd get multiple satellite positions, not just those 3?

    Snaps,

    Thanks for the reply.

I have a motor setup with one lnb, I know I can get multiple satellite positions on the motor, but never really bothered with other satellites.
I have a 90 cm dish, and these three satellites seem to have the strongest signals for a dish that size, if you know any other sats that I should be able to get please pass that on to me.

I have put in my Lat and Long figures into the USALS, sent the motor to the 28.2e sat, the motor drives to that position and I can get perfect signal, same with the 19.2e, but to my frustration the motor will drive to the 13e position, but there is no signal (17% SNR).

I do not know what I am doing wrong!

    Thank you.

can you manually move it with the receiver? So go to 19 east, then nudge it west until it hits 13east? Try entering different satellites, like 1 west and see if it will go there and scan in. Ideally you should set the motor up on your best "true south" Satellite, 5 west for dublin, 8 west for Galway. Once all set up, drive to 42 east and check, then all the way back to 30 west and check. If they work, im not sure what youve done. Could be a channel listings fault?

snaps, I tried nudging the dish manually from the remote controller from 19e as you said, but no luck, I am giving up on it, will have to call someone in. Thanks for you replies.

can you get 16east by nudging dish west? I can't see how connecting someone elses reciever would do anything to motor. Try resetting motor, sometimes the receiver can do that, or there is a pin hole on bottom of motor.
