I've a craving for one. Is it two pieces of chicken and chips? Or are there regional variations?

Standard is the leg and forequarter with chips. You can pay extra for the brest.
A lot of the time in chippers you're better off avoiding the brest because it's as dry as a lump of cardboard.

The key to a good snack box is a four by four carbonated box with a easily accessible flap at the top.

Salty greasy soggy chips, dripping in grease and especially salt and especially vinegar. Soggy greasy chicken with loads of skin, also dripping in grease, salt and vinegar.

One of the things I miss from Ireland the good old snack box at 2.30 in the morning after the pub or club.
To answer the question, garlic mayo!!!

There should be enough food/grease to be able to retrace your steps the next morning.

The chicken hut in Limerick. Gravy out of there is like mothers milk. No where beats it. Mmmmmmm gravy.......

I was out with the lads once, we all got snack-boxes. Dave proceeded to eat the entire chicken bit. I asked him how the feck he was eating the chicken, bones and all. He replied with the classic line "Arrghh, sure there's no bones in chicken". Rough man.

There are a few chippers in Kerry that I have come across over the years that have stuffing in their snackboxes. Not sure if stuffing was ever any good as everything tastes good after a few light refreshments.

Love a breast of chicken and so much vinegar it hurts your eyes. Feel hungry now...

Breast of a chicken and a leg, a few chips, washed down with a mango chutney milkshake.

    You've done it all wrong.

A good snack box is like a beautiful woman. You start of with the breasts, move on to the thighs, then all you have left is a greasy box to still your bone in.

    ;)

Two chippers here have a three piece snackbox. Dinnerbox is five and familybox is ten.

Mrs. Doyle: Oh, Pat Mustard was just wondering if he can put his massive tool in my box.

You could have omitted the "Mrs Doyle" and jumbled that quote into an anagram and everyone here would still have recognised it inside of 3 seconds!
