I don't mean to highjack this thread but is there a minimum acreage required to plant trees that makes it a viable proposition?

The forest service requires a minimum of 0.1ha for broad leaves and 1 ha for conifers to be eligible for grant aid.
however even without grant aid, forestry has historically given a return of on average 4% on the investment.

have recently been left c14 acres and would be interested in forestry - the land is not being used for anything- any info would be greatly appreciated re grants etc
