Screen time out override

    Hi all,

I've my screen time out set to 2 minutes to preserve battery. I've a Golf GPS app on my phone which I'd like somehow to be able to over ride the timeout allowing the screen to stay on all the time as it's a pain in the ar$e having to unlock the screen and launch the app each time I went to check a distance. I know I can extend the time out to 10 minutes (which I've done) but even so I'd prefer to somehow associate the GPS app with allowing the screen to stay on full time.

Are there any apps, widgets or work arounds which would allow me to do what I want to do?

I'm on 4.1.2 if that makes any difference.

    Cheers,

    Ben

Elixir Widgets have a "Keep Awake" toggle.

If you search the store for "Keep Awake", you'll find lots of alternatives.

Ask the developer to add this as an option to the application? The currently active app can keep the screen awake if they want to.

I use an app called "KeepScreen" for this - you tell it which apps you want to disable the screen timeout for.

App Auto Settings is a great one
I use it while car is in Car Mode for driving as my Xperia S has a mind of its own and shuts the screen off after a call even though I have it set to stay awake in the Car Home Ultra app

Thanks lads for all the suggestions. emailed the developer who conformed they have such a feature in their development pipeline. Tried App Auto Settings but it hung when searching my apps so installed KeepScreen which is a nice simple app and hopefully that will do the trick.

Was hoping to try it out tomorrow but its not looking good for golf weather wise :(
