    Hi all,

I'm going to be placing a Noctua NH-D14 on my CPU this evening and I need to know what people use to clean off the old TIM on the CPU. It's recommended to use rubbing alcohol, but I think that's somewhat hard to come by around here (anything at or over 70% alcohol, that is).

So please, let me know what you've used in the past and where you can get it.

    Thanks.

Get some 99% isopropyl alcohol. You should be able to get it in your local pharmacy. Failing that Acetone is also good but you just need to be a bit careful with it. It can damage plastics. It's found in nail varnish removers.

Use a lint free cloth if you have one.
