Car clubs in Ireland?

Do any of you guys know of any? Not for cars like Subaru and Mitsubishi (if they even exist), more high range cars like Ferrari, Lambo, Aston Martin etc.

I know one or two in the UK, but know of none here in Ireland. The more mature the crowd, the better. Would rather not be mingling with the pretentious, petulant type who's 'daddy' bought their cars if possible.

    Thanks!

One of my neighbours is a member of a Jaguar owners club (not sure which one but Im sure youll find it if you look online). Not sure if that is high end enough for you. Ive met some of his friends from it and they seem like decent folk. Nice cars too.

The sort of clubs you are talking about don't advertise. They don't tend to have websites either so you won't find them on Google. You just have to be in the right circles, with the upper echelon.

    Obviously you aren't. ;)

I'm an app developer who has come good in the past year or so; I've earned the money myself. Of course I'm not in these 'circles', that's one of the reasons as to why I want to join one.

There are of few of these 'clubs' you refer to.I guess a lot of members here are involved in them. I was on a run through Wicklow recently with Aston martins,Ferraris,Porsche's etc - the beauty is all the people involved are sound and there were also old subaru,Nissan,Audi,Renault and Audi bangers there too - you see to these real petrol heads it's not about what you drive but your enthusiasm for cars and motoring.

You won't find them they will find you :D

Thanks! I vaguely remember passing by that if my memory serves me correctly, on Dawson St. down a little lane?

How so? All I really want is to avoid the 'boy racer' type, I guess I started on the wrong foot.

Most drivers clubs in Ireland be it for Bentley or Nissan try to do the same, the "boy racer" types are generally not welcome in the clubs. Stay away from the more mainstream "modified" type forums and you'll be fine with any drivers club.

In fairness to the OP I think I know exactly what they mean; they want to avoid somewhere where people are just using their cars as a status symbol to show off their wealth (believe me, Ive come across plenty of these people). Nothing wrong with that; if you are looking for a car club to interact with likeminded individuals with a genuine interest in cars then the last thing you want is some poser showing up in his €100k car just looking for attention!

Just be careful throwing around the term "boy racer"; many genuine car enthusiasts may drive cars that give off this image, but are far from it, are very knowledgable and pretty much exactly the kind of people you want to meet, but will think you are a right prat if you try and label them as a boy racer. Leave the stereotyping at home. Most clubs will be well wary of the wrong people anyway and wouldnt let them within a hundred miles of them.

Can you be more specific OP? What marque are you interested in driving? Or do you intend to join a club first, then buy the car?

Your post contradicts what you actually mean in reference to my comment
