    Hi
Is this a fail in the test? (Service due light)
    Cheers

I dont believe so, no. Its not a warning light; merely an instruction that the car has done a set number of miles/time since the last service.

If you want, you can reset this yourself (should be instructions in your car's manual), but no it's not an NCT fail.

Would it be straightforward enough for someone clueless? I got a service done but the little "km til next service" thing was not reset so it's just annoying me a bit when I turn on the car

What car is it? On some it's as simple as pressing the trip computer zero button while turning the key.

Thanks! I'm always checking the manual for anything else, I have no idea why it didn't occur to me to do it for this. All reset now!
