Hello! I know this is a stupid question, but since I didn't hit any targets last year, how do I fill in the table?

Quote my original post. Remove 'quote' tags so there are just table tags. Post your name under 'name'. Post your time under the appropriate distance...hopefully get a bit of competitiveness going amongst the ladies...

I expect to see you back here after the MSB 5K on March 16th HelenAnne:)

    Thanks Meno for starting this:D
I know of at least two more females who should be in here (CL, CM:)) and I'm sure there's plenty more....

You should ask for an Ultra time to be added!
I'm still struggling to get below 21 for 5k, but maybe this year!

I was happier with the HM in Waterford even though it was over 2 minutes slower because I had to work so hard. I really feel like I didn't try hard enough for the last 4 or 5 miles in Bohermeen. Good me was saying "come on you're not even near your limit" but bad me was saying "ya but i'm not bovvered" and then bad me threw a bin bag over good me and took her to the back of my head so I couldn't hear her anymore :pac:[/QUOTE]

Spotted Krusty adding his phenomenal 5K time to the boys' table so I thought I'd add my not-so phenomenal 5K time from the MSB 5K:D
Anyone else care to add to the list? Anyone got any races coming up?
Fingers, toes and everything else crossed I hope to be adding my marathon time here after London:)

Well done!! I was hoping last night might be my mile night, but I just couldn't get going at the start and ended up with 6.11. Will try again in 2 weeks!

And best of luck in London, Marthastew!

Great idea! I'm hoping Ill be adding my name to this list over the next months. Just one thing does anyone else thing that a sub 40 10k is allot more difficult to get than say a sub 20 5k or sub 35 5mile? Maybe it's just me?!

Of course sub 40 10k is harder. you have yo do 2 x sub 20 5k's together. Sub 35 is 7min/mile so that would be a 21+min 5K so the order is hardest first

    10k
    5k
    5M

sub 40min 10k would have you places in a lot of smaller races

I don't think anybody on the women's thread had a shot at the 400m last year. Would be good to see some of you give it a go this year, if not in a race then in a time trial. 70 seconds is not slow but it is very achievable.

Just like in the mens thread where the sub 60 10 mile is by far the hardest of the 'long distance' races. It is good to have some targets harder than others.

For the womens I'd say the Sub 40 10k is the toughest target. The 5 mile and the HM are easiest and the others are someway in between.
The 800m target is also very achievable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 498 ✭✭DOCO12

Thanks for the replies. I def do agree that around here anyways a sub 40 10k would def have me placed if not winning 😊 I can't see myself getting anywhere near that for a few years but over the next few months the aim will be to get my name on the list for the 5k, 5mile and half marathon. Theres plenty of 5k and 5mile races around but could be a while before an opportunity to run a half marathon comes along. As you said Meno it's good to have one tougher aim. I can't see myself ever doing any 400/800/1 mile races but perhaps a few time trials are called for.

Always wonder why the speedier females on this forum are so slow to put their times up here. Guess the ladies in general are less competitive than the lads. This thread is always so inactive compared to the males' and I don't think it's 'cause the times aren't being achieved. Shame:(
If I ever got one of those times I'd be shouting it from the papal cross:D:D:D
Well done girls this year so far. The year is young;)

This is exactly what I'm finding! Broke the 5 mile one in January, am inching closer to the 5k one, but the 10k one still seems very far out of reach!

    sub 40 10k would be similar to a 19:15 5k.

And now to open the debate on whether the first mile of the 2 mile race counts for inclusion on the table...?! ;) It was marked and official split given by steward...

Sounds ok in my book (as long as the steward knew when the gun went off).
Does that explain why you didn't go sub 12 for the 2 miles? Over-cooked it in the first mile?!

I definitely want to give a couple of the shorter distances a go this year. Boston next week and then I'm in for at least a few months of shorter, faster and harder efforts :)

Yeah she's counting it out of the split that was shouted at her in Raheny.

If that counts my 19:52 5k in Dunboyne counts, my first half of London counts and my first 5 miles in Mallow counts and the sub 40 10k I did in my dream last night also counts.

    Stop cheating CL.

FWIW I think that it's ok to use times in races where you get an officially timed split (e.g. the 5 mile mark in Ballycotton or half way in a marathon).

Yes but it has to from a stationary start so the final 5 miles of a 10 mile race wouldn't count.
