Firewire compatability with windows 7

    Hi,

I've been doing a bit of research before i take the plunge and fork out a load of cash for a custom pc. I need firewire connectivity because i'm trying to build a decent audio recording/editing rig on a budget of about 1300 euros.

Anyway, i was looking into firewire cards and i noticed that a lot of people had latency problems due to the firewire/windows 7 combo.

Does anyone have any advice? I don't want to jump in and build a pricey rig based around windows 7 and then find out that it doesn't do what i bought it for.

Any help would be much appreciated.
