BLACK WATER IN UNDERFLOOR HEATING SYSTEM!

We got underfloor hooked directly to boiler Firebird C26. It got installed 4 months ago. Water pump (DAB) kept running whilst boiler was switched off (faulty switch) and it basically crappesd out 2 days ago. Opened screw in middle of pump and black water leaked out! Rang plumber and he said that this was down to the pump crapping out. I don't believe this and he wants to charge 180 eur to flush out system refill it with solution. He is supplying a 2nd hand pump and I am getting a return on pump that crapped out.

My question is: should the water be this black given that there is a lot of qualpex used? Also if there was a solution added to prevent corrosion should it be this black already and is it due to pump?

Should this be not covered under guarantee seeming all work carried out was in November 2011?

    Thanks

    Thanks

The system should have been flushed from new and a chemical inhibitor added to keep the system clean and corrosion free, if the system water is black its either there was no inhibitor added or it has diluted itself over time, system fault or leak, but black water doesnt develop over night, i would suggest no inhibitor was added.

    Thanks a mil

Do ya think that after 4 months if inhibitor was added that water would be black?

He said it was pump causing black water..is this right?

I would suspect that there is a system fault and no inhibiter was added for signs of sludge build up to show so soon after instalation.

And if he's only charging you 180 for a flush then he's not doing it even nearly right. Insist on him using fernox or sentinel cleaning products and inhibitor if he is flushing it
