Liverpool have struggled away to the Lactics, rarely loosing but not winning well since 2006 (0-4). The first meeting this season saw Liverpool win 3-0.

Sturridge is almost certainly out as is Ramis for Wigan.

Likely starting 11 and subs (using bib theory)

Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Agger, Enrique, Allen, Lucas, Gerrard, Downing, Suarez, Coutinho.

Subs - Jones, Wisdom, Skrtel, Sterling, Henderson, Shelvey and AN Other

Big game for both clubs, wigan need to win to move away from the relegation zone and pool need to win to keep their slim chance of top 4 alive.

    I predict 1-1

Hopefully it's Henderson instead of Allen

Can vividly remember that 4-0 win in 2006.. It was a 15:00 KO live on RTÉ. Bellamy scored a brace and Kuyt got one, the other goal may have been an OG... Don't know why I remember it so well

Expecting either a 3-0 Liverpool win or a 2-0 loss. It depends on whether Liverpool score in the first 50 minutes or not.

    Confirmed XI:

Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Agger, Enrique, Lucas, Allen, Gerrard, Downing, Coutinho, Suarez.

    Bench:

Gulacsi, Wisdom, Coates, Shelvey, Henderson, Suso, Assaidi.

Downing's holographic projection on ESPN's buildup couldn't stop fidgeting. Thought he was going to drop the paw on himself at one stage. I find the whole thing a bit disturbing to be honest

Skrtel must be really out of favour!

    Yep
“I want to be fit as soon as possible and fight for the place in the starting line-up. If the coach should lose interest in keeping me in his team, then we would have to handle it with my agent.

We bet them 3-0 earlier in the season with no sturridge, well be fine.

Edit: we should be, but then again knowing us..

Sturridge is a loss, we're a different proposition to face when he's in.

That said, looking forward to seeing more of Coutihno and while Downing's done well of late, would still prefer to see Henderson in there.

Exactly...Sturridge's importance is ever so slightly being overrated.

Would have played Henderson over Coutinho, but with no Sturridge I'd keep Coutinho in and would have played Hendo over Allen.

Also hope Rodgers is more willing to use Assaidi off the bench now.

Deserves game time IMO. No harm at this stage of the season either really. Not exactly chasing an awful lot realistically.

Plus, I reckon he'd actually be our best wide man if given extended game time in the future.

Hopefully a win for Liverpool this evening. 2-1 maybe. Pity Sturridge is not available. I was looking forward to seeing him play.

Agree with this, given game time of course - he always seems eager to get at defenders and take on defences

You cannot compare an 'inho to normal, mortal players. They are elitist.
