Hi, just looking for some advice. My husband wants to try fly fishing and I was hoping to get him a lesson for his birthday in May. We live in Galway, but was thinking either Mayo area or Cork, we could make a weekend of it. Does anyone know somewhere that does it, and approx cost?? Also I have no idea, is this the time of year for fly fishing??? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
    THanks

There are a few in cork that do it
Glenda Powell on the blackwater river is one she is about 20 mins from fermoy
You can look up blackwater lodge and contact her
Another is a lad called Kieran conlon, he is based in cork city he has a blog you can look up just type in speyguide in google and you should find it
If you can't find them let me know and I will get their phone numbers for you

As a local alternative Renvyle House does a Fly Fishing weekend that is run by Hardy Grey instructors and they cater for beginners and experienced anglers alike. This year it's on the 11th and 12th April and is normally great fun and if you are a non-angler it's not the worst place in the world to be stuck :D

    List of instructors here: fishinginireland.info/guides/index.htm
Select the area you want and find a list of instructors for that area.
