Just curious if anyone else has encountered this issue,

My raspherry worked s fine but now its developed a very annoying issue of it just won't boot/work unless I actually hold the SD card in the card holder. it needs to be pressed in,

If I don't do this or I leave go of the sd card after its booted it comes back with i/o error;s,

Spent awhile looking at it lastnight and eventually managed to wedge a bit of cardboard ontop of the SD Card which presses it into the card holder. This appears to have done the trick.

Just curious if this is common and any other suggested solution to this?

Haven't heard anything about this, but then again, I'm new to Pi.

Were you regularly inserting/removing the card?

Only after it kicked up, it took me awhile to figure out why it wasn't booting correctly

Make sure the connections on the card are clean and undamaged.

Similarly make sure the connectors in the socket making contact with the card are in good order and not distorted or bent.

Finally, check the micro switch which makes contact when the card is inserted ...... that might be strained or raised out of its slot.

Finally, at the edge of the board, on both sides of the SD card socket, there should be a leg soldered to the board holding the SD socket in place flush with the board --- ensure that both are unbroken and holding the socket as they should.
