the website is pretty crap but there should be a live video feed here

    Live tracking here

He's moving up nicely in his AG too.

Jackyback 119th after swim lap 1, and has been taking places at every checkpoint since, now in 81st overall after first bike lap. Looks like a solid enough swim.

Would I be right in assuming it was a non wetsuit swim?

doubt it, times seem right for LCD and JB for wetsuit 3km

Fran now 15th in AG, 68th AG Male
Liam 1st in AG, 6th AG Male, was 2nd
    Pretty bad site for tracking

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,584 ✭✭✭✭tunney

Yip, it was the same last year. I wonder what Fran's mechanical was before the race....

Despite taking a wrong turn Brownlee took the short course race.

According to Tri24 it's "hot but not crazy hot".

Molloy of GBR, 5th AG Male OA and 2nd in AG.

Looks like Fran battling it out with another irish man out there - Michael Stafford..

Change "Timing Point" to bike lap 2

and set to Age Grouper over all.

Scroll through - you'll find him on second page

Hi Michelle, he is doing very well so far thankfully :) Try "Egan"

I must admit I got a bit of a fright when I saw 'Jackyback' was the last poster on the main forum page :o

Direct link. Couldn't get it myself for a while but then I thought of trying "Egan" rather than "Hobbit" :)

You must be up the walls?

    Looks like 3rd to me.
Kyle Buckingham 1st and Nick Baldwin 2nd.
Not sure of the first guy but Baldwin is Sesel from tritalk/slowtwitch and has gone full time so expected. Won his AG in Vegas just gone also and Podium Kona AG'er so that looks right.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,121 ✭✭✭Fazz

Looks like Owen Martin is next Irish AG'er over the line.

His AG is 40-44 now? He was 2nd if so just behind Matt Molloy!
    Very Very impressive stuff.

LCD Biked 200km in 5:04 - just under the 40kph average!

Looks like he was on for 3rd overall until last 5km so may have suffered in silly heat over there. Still - currently 6th overall as other waves start to finish.

    Great results.

Molloy 6th ager overall, dolan, 7th and owen 8th......some race that!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,557 ✭✭✭bryangiggsy

any word on Fran? No run splits yet?

any word on Fran? No run splits yet?

    T2 - 37 MIN...

    Strange..

Unreal race from Molloy, Dolan & Martin..

Dolan must have suffered for the finish - but great race none the less.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,121 ✭✭✭Fazz

any word on Fran? No run splits yet?

    Looks like

    Swim 56:20
    Bike 6:34

    T2 31 mins???

Hoping not an issue and a timing problem.

Others ahead in ag are only in first lap or so of run so hopefully hes out there now too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,235 ✭✭✭Solobally8

Maybe its a problem with the site. Hope he hasnt stopped.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,121 ✭✭✭Fazz

    He is on the run!
Made it to turn 1 so still out there and 30th in AG at mo.

    Does look like he had a v long t2 - toilet/cramp/emotional issue :D

Seems to have plowed on so hopefully straight through run now.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,361 ✭✭✭Kurt Godel

JB seems to be making up a lot of places on the run. 125th M out of T2, now 96th well into the run.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,454 ✭✭✭hf4z6sqo7vjngi

He finished it...i'm sure he'll be on in a while to update :)

Just a nightmare day and no positives to take from it, i was flat as a pancake out there. Cannot keep this up any more, taking a break for a while! Thanks for the support and well done to Liam & Matt on AG win and Owen on 2nd, well deserved.

Mailed you already buddy and nothing more to add but please keep your head up, it isn't the end of the world and you are in what I'd imagine is a magnificent place, take it in and experience what it has to offer.
